The audio chip built into the motherboard. I am just afraid that I will try and pull it off and that was not what you were doing. Maybe you accidentally removed some tiny component while cleaning the motherboard?

And I also have learned that the DV has a heating issue. I have the DV and have problems with it getting hot, I assumed it had a case fan but looking at the picture here it may be the cpu fan, its in the top left of laptop and has a blue light where the fan is.

Thanks for your guide. It was running pretty hot and overheating so I opened it up to clean all the dust out of it. I only removed the rams and my hard drive and I only came until step And also if it is the backlight, where can it be found.

Can I buy just anything and put it in? I don’t see anything anywhere listing Realtek or any other sound device. In reply to Bikesh T’s post on December 27, I have installed the system BIO succesfully, but the Conexant HD Driver failed to intall, gives the message that, it can not find the device for the driver.
Due to busy schedule I was not able to get it replaced and was using the laptop on AC power every time. If you have any tips, I would be glad to hear them.

The problem is becoming progressively worse and I currently own a rock. So…anyone have any clues about this: By the way, if you need a quick access to your data, you can dv650 an external USB enclosure.

But now i have another problem, the notebook i disassembled is a HP Pavillion DV eo and i tried switching motherboards between that and another laptop, it didnt work so i changed back, when i took the old motherboard and had assembled the entire laptop again it didnt start either, any idea why it wont start?
